Description

Tessa Connover (Katherine Heigl) is barely coping with the end of her marriage when her ex husband, David (Geoff Stults), becomes happily engaged to Julia Banks (Rosario Dawson)—not only bringing Julia into the home they once shared but also into the life of their daughter, Lilly (Isabella Rice). Trying to settle into her new role as a wife and a stepmother, Julia believes she has finally met the man of her dreams, the man who can help her put her own troubled past behind her. But Tessa’s jealousy soon takes a pathological turn until she will stop at nothing to turn Julia’s dream into her ultimate nightmare.

It was enjoyable, although it was very predictable and kind of average.

Who leaves their phone face up on the table when they are away? Find my device not set up and and you use ur Bday for screen lock? Really?! Especially when you have personal information on your phone? No home security?! They use a classic plot tool of the main characters keeping secrets. Smh.

I've seen better Lifetime movies than this. It was so boring, I fell asleep towards the ending.

To get to the point, the movie was an extremely predictable rehash of any other woman-scorned-seeks-revenge film. You have the overbearing perfectionist mother who's obsessive traits has now made her own recently divorced daughter similar, to the point of extreme violence. She longs for her ex-husband to come back to her while faking kindness to the new woman, only to gradually start tormenting her. Aside from the by the numbers story, there are some campy elements thrown in. The Mommie Dearest influnced hair brushing, resulting in a new haircut, scene had me chuckling (though Faye Dunaway did it MUCH better 36 years ago). I had voiced my expectations of upcoming scenes well before they happened, and in most cases I was spot on. If you like your Hollywood thrillers to be the same as all the others you've seen before, then this film is for you.

Katherine Heigl steals the show here and takes you into her character's world. Very nicely done. I saw it on opening day.

One of the critic reviews said this was a thriller from another decade and that is absolutely correct! if you are in your 30's or older and loved made for TV Lifetime movies you will delight in this film. It is EXACTLY like a Lifetime movie! Katherine Hiegel is perfect for this type of movie and she kills it as an over the top psycho ex wife who is jealous of the new woman in her ex's life. And Cheryl Lad plays her controlling mother to boot! It's amazing.

I love it the mysterious ending, with Lily's gramma.
