It tries to be an epic fantasy film with a great romance but basically everything about this movie is pretty flat, including the two main characters. It also tries to be funny in several places, but instead ends up just being unnecessarily gross or inappropriate.

I don't know where I've been for the past, almost 10 years, but I feel slighted by fate for not finding and seeing this movie before now. It is the singularly best book to movie fantasy I've seen in a long while (and that's including the ever dissapointing Hobbit movies). Everyone who had a hand in this should be ridiculously proud. Everything, from the amazing score to even the mouse, did a wonderful job. Loved the performances, specially Cox and De Niro, who undoubtedly stole the show. We're coming up on the 10 year anniversay of this epic fantasy and all I dream about is a special edition with actor interviews and commentary. :) Oh stars, please be listening :) Worth buying folks!!! Get to it!

I love this movie. It's fun, and magical! Like finding a hidden world! I would recommend this for almost everyone... except children... there's a bit of violence that would scare a child but... for everyone else... it's a load of fun and magic!
