I first saw this movie as a teenager and I thought it was great! Considering that Macaulay Culkin got his first claim to fame as an actor in the movie Home Alone, no one in the 90s would’ve expected him to take such a dark turn and play a genuinely evil kid in this movie. But he’s really good at playing the chilling title role, a family’s supposedly “good son” in this tense and terrifying thriller. Elijah Wood is terrific as Mark, the boy who must battle evil Henry alone when no one believes his warnings about how dangerous Henry is. A living nightmare for fans of really scary movies that are truly suspenseful! Bestselling author Todd Strasser wrote a great movie tie-in that should be made available as an iBook.

I just saw this movie a couple months ago it's now my favorite movie of all time anyone who hasn't watched it needs to. The cool thing about using Culkin in this film when he was a kid you don't even need to try to make him scary cause it already is scary when you see a kid killing and hurting people

Poor photography, poor sound, poor music, and—surprisingly—poor acting from Culkin. I was more than 40 minutes into the film before I cared about any of the characters. Wood's acting started off poor, but he got better as the film went on. The rest of the actors were unremarkable. Cool idea, poorly executed.
