This film was a amazing story of a man and a people who have gone threw horrendous hardships in there life.But to me my favorite part was the fact that threw so much trauma he still has no hatred and still lives a non-violent life I only wish that more people had the heart and honor that he posses

This was a wonderful film. I was deeply impacted by the horror done onto the Tibetan people by the Chinese government and tremendously inspired by the compassion, wisdom, and joy of the Dalai Lama.

A good overview / intro to what transpired in the lives of Tibetan during the Communist Chinese Invasion. Yet actually "lite." Please feel free to enlighten yourselves on the real plight of these people, and the choices made by even the US to ignore the Genocide Of Tibetans and their culture.

Couldn't get past the first question

I found this video offensively generalizing. I could only make it through the first question which I would sum up as rich = unhappy, poor = happy, West = angry criminal heathens, South Asians = blissful magical peaceful people. Can we have a little more nuanced view of the world please?

I took away a better understanding of the Dalai Lama after watching this documentary. Ricks style of story telling seems to be a little 'home movie' but it works.

This is an excellent movie, with very beautiful landscapes pictures and daily life scenes of the people living around, with a very condensed information about buddhism and the Dalai Lama history, plus with very nice Tibetan cultural tips, definitely a must-see; best documentary I have ever seen about the Tibet.
Fascinating Documentary

This is a really great and fascinating documentary. Not only does the film give the viewer background and clips about the Dalai Lama's life (along with the actual interview where the filmmaker was allowed to ask the Dalai Lama ten questions) but the documentary also highlights real political difficulties such as the issue of Tibet.
