Great movie--definitely time well spent. But the most complex and interesting characters--Etta James and especially Howlin' Wolf--don't appear until fairly late, and even then they never become central to the plot (except for Beyonce taking over the movie here and there). I wanted to see them interacting more with Muddy Waters and the rest of the cast.

I am SO picky about movies but this one held my attention every single second. I laughed, cried, grooved, it is informative, entertaining and the acting was perfect. I am glad I bought it instead of renting it; as I will watch it again and again. Beyonce made me cry when she sang "I'd rather go blind". AMAZING!!!
