Absolutely trash and if you watch it before you read the books it will ruin the whole book series. Great book series but terrible movie. I am very disappointed.

Nothing like the books

The final battle was great.

The movie is ridiculously inaccurate to the books. The characters traits, the plot, and the entire feeling is terrible and different from the book. The main goal of Percy and Annabeth is literally to have sex, and this is for KIDS! Grover’s character is different, the age, Grover’s personality, all of them and much more were terrible mistakes. AND PERSEPHONE WAS LITERALLY IN THE UNDERWORLD IN SUMMER!!! Even if you didn’t read the books, the movie’s plot is obvious and terrible, and the effects look very fake as well. I would rate this movie 0 stars if I could.

This is the WORST book to movie adaption ever. They are middle schoolers in the first book, but in the movie they are portrayed as 17 year olds! Annabeth was BLONDE and had BLUE eyes in the books! You hear not one person mention Thalia or Clarisse in the movie, Persephone’s Pearls we’re mentioned very briefly in the books and yet the entire movie seems to revolve around them! Like I said before, don’t even bother watching it if you’ve read the books.

So my friend and I are huge fans of Percy Jackson. The books were amazing but after we watched the movies, we felt dead on the inside. The directer totally changed up the plot, the characters, and took out the most important stuff from the book and just, WHY. One: The characters Annabeth: In the book, she has blonde curly hair and grey eyes, in the movie she has straight brown hair and blue eyes... What happend? Shes not supposed to be the best fighter at camp, Luke is. And her whole character is basically her and Clarisse into one person. BTW shes supposed to have a dagger and an invisibility cap. Hades: He does NOT look like that, especially his hair. And he's not supposed to be the evil guy. Grover: He's the best actor in the whole movie, even though he doesn’t look like his character and he's not supposed to be crazy for attractive girls. Persephone: Cool character, but she was not in the book. Medusa: She’s supposed to be an elderly woman whos wears a veil instead of sunglasses. BTW wheres Clarisse? Ares? Dionysis? and the Stoll twins? AND WHY ARE THEY 16? THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE 12! Two: The setting A) Im pretty sure the Underworld doesnt look like that B) Why do the cabins look like that? C) Why does the big house have no walls? Plus its the 'big house' not the small house. Three: The plot A) Persephone's pearls weren’t the 'main thing' in the book. B) Percy Jackson is supposed to receive the quest and choose two friends to come along with him. C) Capture the flag is all wrong. Its like the Hunger Games but with no knowledge or death. D) Where is the scene with the Arch? Its a really important part in the book. E) Why are there some inappropriate moments? F) Why are they in a casino? You have to be above 18 to go in. G) And why do people call Percy "Perse"? That makes no sense! Why did they not follow the story and change everything?! The book was amazing and well written. This movie deserves a remake!

I am a Percy Jackson fan, so when I saw this I was all excited to see a great book series on TV. Unfortunately, they scrapped almost everything from the books except the main plot. If you are a fan of the books than DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

A shield in the first book? No, he gets it at the end of the second book. A quest to get pearls? No, a water spirit gives them to Percy and the quest is to return the bolt and stop the war. No mention of Ares or Clarisse, who played big parts throughout the series. If you’ve read the books, do yourself a favor and don’t watch this. It’s so freakin’ bad.
