So why am I waiting for 4K version? Anyone awake at apple?

About a year ago, I received a 3D projector for Christmas along with the equipment necessary for playing Blu-Ray 3D movies. I also received several movies to try out on the projector. Hubble was the very first of the films I watched. And wow! It was so good, I watched it like 5 times in January. The narrative was compelling, the big screen brought you close to the astronauts, and the 3D effects are unforgettable. I unfortunately, never saw this in IMAX 3D. But even for the projector at home, the 3D was outstanding to say the least. The big screen did enough, but this movie NEEDS 3D to be fully experienced. This is why I wouldn’t recommend getting the iTunes version. There are many different places where the 3D really becomes a crucial tool for experiencing this film to the fullest. Many include the space scenes, the CGI segments, and the liftoff scene surprising paid off with the 3D as I got amazing depth even with the parts involving the audience for the shuttle takeoff. But that ending sequence where they put together a virtual tour of the universe in 3D and lit up many different stars made my mouth drop. The depth and screen protruding range of the stars was nothing less than astonishing. I could almost feel it right in the garage. If you are to see this movie, see it in IMAX 3D. Those 45 minutes may go by fast, but they’re worth it to every last penny. Even if you can’t get the next best thing. And 3D is a must. Of course, this is a review for my film experience which didn’t include iTunes. Don’t get this on iTunes or you can’t experience this film to the fullest. But do see it.

I am delighted to confirm that the 'HD' version is in fact HD.

The preview is badly compressed, making me wonder how good ANY of the actual footage will be? The most ardent reviews all agree that in IMAX format this was really cool. But this is only humble 1080 HD and from the looks of the highly compressed review footage, one feels obliged to ask: “How HQ is the actual movie?” Even if the imagery was sensational (which, from those who’ve actually watched it, it seems it is not), the quality of HD needs to be high enough to reproduce at least some of the IMAX experience. That’s a real difficult task.

A fantastic documentary - but missing the point. The universe is fine and is All Of Us. Thank you for showing us, in pictures.

this is a spectacular movie. Absolutely superlative (except for the exceptional price, which is 33% higher than most IMAX theaters charged for the initial release of the movie. Shame on you, iTunes.

It was neat to see the process of how they prepare and then actually get to Hubble then fix it. I'm glad I only rented for $4 and wouldn't recommend anyone purchase this for $18. This really should be free...

First, this doc is about maintenance, repair and upgrades of the Hubble and also about the daring astronauts. The information is well presented. Last, this doc is about the “Voyage through distant galaxies.” I absolutely loved the journey and exploration of the galaxies but there is too little of this.
