When released, The Last Waltz set the standard for concert/documentary films. For some, like myself, prior to their farewell performances captured in this film, The Band was not really on the radar screen, aside from a few classics like "Up On Cripple Creek." This movie changed that, and made many of us realize that we'd discovered them too late. Thankfully, this performance, with plenty of guest artists, documented The Band at their best.
