Cary Grant isn’t at his best in this 1964 Rom Com about a burned out professor forced into coast-watching a tiny deserted island for the Allies during WWII. The plot has a few quick turns, yet it drags out. Leslie Caron plays the love interest a tad flatly and the romance is very thin. The best parts are when Grant gets angry.

A delightful movie with Cary Grant’s skillful humor. The story is about a man who wishes to live in the south pacific islands and to be left alone and is quickly involved with this woman and a group of orphaned girls stuck on this island in the middle of the second world war. I recommend it highly.
