He endured three years in Adiala Central Jail in Rawalpindi, one of the most dangerous prisons in the world, where he had to fight to survive. He maintained his innocence and with the help of Casting Director, Joey Paul Jensen and the help of political figures including New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, was released in December of 2004. Today, Erik is a working actor, stunt coordinator and professional poker player which he learned to play while in prison from the 1986 Pan Am hijackers. This film features Hollywood actors Quinton Aaron (The Blindside), Meagan Good (Think Like A Man), and former Major League Baseball player, Jose Canseco.

Fantastic documentary that’s well shot, moves at a brisk pace, and is exciting and surprising. Kept my attention throughout and the story was an incredible one that I could relate to. It would be so easy to fall into a similar trap as a broke artist, but his ability to persevere and come out on the other side stronger is inspiring.

Very inspiring and humbling watching Erik’s story. It’s awful to think that one human being could so shamelessly hurt another without any remorse. What’s even sadder is that he’s one of many who has gone through this type of torture and mistreatment. It’s good to see that the persistence of his mother did have a major impact. There was definitely not a dry eye towards the end of the film.

Amazing! I would highly recommend seeing this documentary. It really makes you think about a lot. What is even more amazing is someone that can go through this and come out still such a positive, caring person. Brought me to tears.

This movie lets you know what it feels like to be in someone else's shoes in a horrible time. This movie makes you realize your life can change in an instant. Definitely recommend watching it! The director and this man's story do a great job to have you take look at your life, and make you feel grateful for everything you have. It could always be a lot worse than we think.
