very different sort of tale… but in the Burmese Harp, a Japanese soldier trapped in an untenable situation dresses in the robes of a Buddhist Priest to save himself… as the facade continues… He has a sort of spiritual transformation… really quite a lovely idea for a story...

A wonderful story beautifully told - Bogey is great as the unlikely Priest - an Oscar-worthy performance in my opinion. Exquisite CinemaScope film. Ahh the good old days when Hollywood did not hate God and religion nor scorn the sincere believer..
