Description

Hannah Horvath (Lena Dunham) and her circle of friends are back for the sixth and final season of the Emmy(R)- and Golden Globe-winning comedy series. Picking up six months after the events of last season, Season 6 finds Hannah enjoying new success as she lands a plum writing assignment that could dramatically change the course of her life. Meanwhile, Marnie (Allison Williams), now in a relationship with Ray (Alex Karpovsky), seeks to maintain her post-divorce independence; Jessa and Adam (Jemima Kirke and Adam Driver), now also a couple, embark on a creative project together; and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) lands on her feet at a marketing agency.

    It finally got cancelled because nobody wanted to work with Lena anymore, she became too self important as time went on, and the show became a way for her to "direct" and make herself feel more important, and we who liked the show in season one are the ones to suffer. When you are fat because you live an unhealthy lifestyle void of cardio and a healthy diet, that is not your "natural" figure and it's nothing to be proud of.

    What started out as a new kind of show with an interesting point of view quickly turned into a trainwreck as Lena's popularity went straight to her head and she became convinced that everything she did was absolutely brilliant. She dragged in all her untalented and unlikeable friends (including Jemima Kirke) for pointless parts, and we had to sit through it just to see the interesting people- Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Alex K, and a few others. Glad it's over, it became more annoying than entertaining.

    There used to be a plot... Now there is not. Just a lot of unnecessary and disturbing scenes of a naked Lena Dunham. It might've been cute in season 1, but nobody wants to see that girl naked in excess. It's overkill and it's annoyingly self-deprecating.

    Lena Dunham is Brilliant and so is GIRLS. I will miss this show! I already miss this show so much that I went back and re-watched Tiny Furniture AND Creative Nonfiction. I'm anxiously awaiting Lena's next piece of work. I hope in the very near future we can have Lena again as creator, writer and STAR...until then I'll binge GIRLS when I miss her.
