Description

Sabrina is a normal teenager, except for one thing -- she's a witch! Guided by her aunts, who come from a long line of witches, and Salem, a mischievous warlock doing penance as a black cat, Sabrina continually struggles to harness her powers while wittingly wreaking havoc on friends and foes alike. While struggling through the growing pains associated with being a witch and getting into lots of harmless trouble along the way, Sabrina realizes that magic is not quite as easy as pointing your finger.

Love the show but the digitized version….

So the show itself is great, I grew up with it and the nostalgia factor is high. However, a lot of the scenes involved songs that I guess licensing went away for so the captions show lyrics to a song that’s playing but there’s just a generic back track going on. There’s also quite a few inconsistencies between the captions and actual spoken dialogue.

I happily bought this series when Apple ran it on sale, thinking the glitches were just with Paramount Plus and Pluto (the current services streaming this particular show). Unfortunately, no matter what service airs this show, something is so wrong with it that it hurts my eyes to watch more than 5 minutes because it’s shaky and jittery every 30 seconds. It’s like each frame can’t keep up anytime the characters move. I have no issues with any of my other content so I know it’s not a problem on my end. I’m bummed that the video quality is so poor that I had to request a refund. I love this show and was looking forward to reliving some 90s magic. Sigh. Hopefully, Apple fixes the technical issues and I can rebuy the series in the future.
Jittery and Stuttery; Horrible and Inconsistent Playback

I love classic TGIF and Sabrina was a staple of the 1990s lineup. I bought the entire series on iTunes for a really great price, but when I started watching episodes they stutter. I tried playback on every device (iPad, iPhone, Apple TV app on PS5, Roku, etc.) nothing improves the stutters. I tried downloading episodes thinking it was a bandwidth issue, the stutters remain. I don’t understand as this same show streamed flawlessly on Hulu, what version is streaming here on iTunes? I am not angry that this is SD, I am angry that the show drops frames. To be fair, a show like Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper looks amazing in SD... Please fix the video quality to allow many of us to re-live some 90s magic!
