Reviews

  • Better than Season 1; 4-1/2 stars

Although I rank this show third out of the six Marvel/Netflix properties--behind Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but ahead of Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher--it's still superior entertainment in my book. This season is better than the first, with more refined writing and character development. The crossover episode with Iron Fist was particularly good and left me wanting more crossovers between the two characters (possibly morphing into a Heroes for Hire show). I gave the first season of this show a four-star rating; this one is 4-1/2 stars (but the iTunes rating system isn't set up for half-star designations, unfortunately). It's too bad that Netflix cancelled this series--the last episode of the season (and series) left the character in a very interesting place that demands further exploration via another season. It's sad that we won't see it anytime soon, if ever, since Netflix's contract with Marvel prohibits Marvel from using this character (along with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and The Punisher) for two years after each show ends. Understandable from the business perspective, but frustrating to the viewing public that liked these shows.
