    After such a promising first season, this season was a real letdown. Cliched storylines (time travel, advanced aliens, doomed relationships), wooden acting, lazy directing, all culminate in a silly cartoon-driven episode followed by a cringeworthy musical episode that makes Smash look like a masterpiece. Even worse, "The Strange New Worlds" of the title are mostly absent.
