  • Hoping for season 2 on iTunes

    Growing up around the 2000’s was a great time for me watching shows, and this show was one of my favorites, and I am so happy to finally re-watch it all. But knowing there’s a season 2 and it’s not available on iTunes really bugs me. Please let it become available soon I really love this version of Astro Boy!

    Astro is about the oldest anime character there is though if it is an English language show than the original audio is English however if it’s not and original Japanese audio is the original audio all anime should have an original Japanese version

    The original Japanese version is much better but as always, our hero Astro Boy has kept his charm through the years. I only hope the “re boot” hurries up and comes out. If you don’t know the Mighty Atom, watch the original show. <3

    This series is not the original. The first version was a manga that was first written in 1951. A TV series was made in 1963, the black-and-white one. Another remake was made in 1980, this time in color. This is the 3rd TV series. It strays somewhat from the original storyline, and the English dub is terrible, but overall I think it's pretty good. The 2009 movie is OK, but is so far from the original that it shouldn't even be called Astro Boy. I highly suggest reading the original manga. It's available in English in 23 volumes from Dark Horse.

    love it so much the movie was great and the seasons were so awsome. i totally recomend this.

  • Not the series from the 60's

    As a kid living in Japan back in 1963 (I'm a military brat), I use to watch Mighty Atom (aka Astro Boy here in the states). The only problem - it was in Japanese and I didn't speak or read Japanese, and I thought it would be fun watching it in English. Unfortunately, it's not the original series. I think this series is from the late 70's or early 80's. After watching a few of the previews, I think the original was better and funnier - this is not to say kids would not enjoy this series, which is why I gave it 4 Stars. So anyway, I guess I'll have to wait for the full length Astro Boy movie coming out in theater in October 2009.

    Trust me...even though it's meant for a younger audiences, seasoned anime otakus like me will love this show too. Astro's the most adorable anime robot I have ever seen, and the plot of this entire show keeps the fan watching right to the very end. It's a classic anime, so why not give it a chance?

    Although the graphics are awesome and all, the Original series of Astro Boy is WAY better than this one. what-ever happened to Astros Little sisters voice? what happened to the three-headed dragon? The only part of the Plot-line that's better in this one, is that Astro Boys creator is the Main Villain, That's a really cool part of the Plot-line in this one. but it's still not worth it, so If you want to watch the Astro Boy series, buy the Original one that Osuma Tezuka made.
