Stand out episodes feature Aquaman taking his family on Vacation and end up helping Batman fight the Penguin, A Bat divide feature Batman splitting in three Including a Slacker, A team-up with the Freedom Fighters in which you can sing along with Batman, and I Paul Dini written episode which Batman teams up with his Father voiced by Adam West.

A Worthy Successor to "Batman: The Animated Series"

"Batman: The Brave and the Bold" has been entertaining from the start, but the second season has truly pulled out all the stops by offering some nice nods to Golden, Silver, Bronze, and Modern Age comics and amping up the interesting guest-stars, i.e., the Doom Patrol, the Flash family, and the original Captain Marvel. Sure, there are some silly moments, but they're often clever homages to DC's past. The more serious stuff has been very much in the mode of "BTAS." I can't recommend it highly enough!

I'm a massive comic nerd, so this series was a treat. It's hard to stop grinning while watching it, and it's pretty well-written, to boot. It's mature enough to appeal to older audiences while still being innocent enough to not drive kids nuts (the punchline to an Aristocrats joke is in the first episode), and it references parts of comic history few even know about. For example, B'Wana Beast, a remarkably C-list hero with the ability to fuse animals together, wouldn't even show up in most shows. Here, he tragically sacrifices his life to save the entire planet. Overall, it's one of the most brilliant animated shows around right now, and if your kids aren't watching it, they should be. BUT WAIT! This collection is missing an episode! "The Mask of Matches Malone", an episode centering around all-female team the Birds of Prey, and written by veteran comics scribe Gail Simone, is completely and inexplicably missing from the lineup. Perhaps a certain double-entendre-laden musical number led to this, but for whatever reason, it's removing a fine episode for reasons that its target audience are too young to get. So, bad iTunes. -1 star for you.
