The action sequences didn’t make sense. Alien mechs with laser targeting miss? Assault rifle rounds bounce off alien armor, but a shotgun blast kills them? Skinners (Aliens) travel alone without weapons instead of moving in military squads (see episode three)
Gripping And Then One Thinks

The human characters have personalities that evolve and become believable, and their situations pull one into wanting that next episode. Yet, I keep thinking about how did these 6 or 8 legged “skitters” develop the technology for inter-planetary-system travel without opposable thumbs? Or, without some way, any way, of building, holding and manipulating the tools necessary to build such means of transport. Maybe I’ll learn how in coming episodes and further seasons, but right now I’m thinking such was not thought out by the series’s creators.

And did I mention, significantly less Sci-Fi !!
Third rate writer team and an even worse Director! Did you guys have to give minute-by-minute, blow-by-blow account of all daily sentimental touchy-feely feelings of each character? Did you guys get guarantees of run for several seasons - "take all the time you need to slowly build a plot"? Is that what your audience crave in a Sci-Fi? Or did you really start on a soap that evolved into a Sci-Fi? What happened to 'keep the audience glued for more' or 'keep 'em interested'? Do you remember 'Aliens'?
You guys successfully unhooked your audience with all mundane crap!!!
