Wisecracking ladies’ man Bret Maverick (Garner) and his more serious brother, Bart (Jack Kelly – Gunsmoke), are two handsome bachelors on the loose in the Wild West with a penchant for playing a good hand of cards. The two have more success at the game of poker than the game of love, yet they persistently try their luck in one frontier outpost after another. If trouble arises, these cardsharps would rather slip out of town quietly than face a gunman, but when it’s time for a showdown, better place your bet on a Maverick. Season two features a wealthy roster of guest stars including Martin Landau, Clint Eastwood, Louise Fletcher, Robert Conrad, Adam West, Connie Stevens and Roger Moore, as the Mavericks’ cousin Beau.
