I've followed this series from birth, literally, and a celebration of the lord's birth in post war England during the 50's is surprisingly refreshing. A calling to us all, to return to what we were taught all of our lives. Do good!
The writing is hauntingly heartfelt. And a wonderful rendition of Silent Night.

If this show doesn't melt your heart and touch you, you had better check your pulse. Not only does it give you a very accurate feel for the times (late 1950's) in post-World War II England, but the characters are delightful, the stories are touching and often funny, and the entertainment value is wonderful.

Great character portrayals. Complex issues dealt with in a through provoking and moving manner. Chummy is the most lovable character to hit television in a long time. I love the other characters too. Top notch entertainment based on actual lives.
